The importance of CIOFF® Youth.

Set out below are some of the motivations and objectives that the young people aim to achieve.

  1. To support the work of the National Section.
  2. To establish a network of communication amongst young people, both from this country and from other countries, with the aim of safeguarding traditional and folk culture, and promoting peace and brotherhood in accordance with the principles of CIOFF® and UNESCO.
  3. To enable its members to lead individual projects in such a way that they are incorporated into the planning of the National Youth Commission.
  4. To support the creation of new projects that can work towards the established objectives
  5. To promote the development of human, artistic and cultural attitudes within the framework of the responsibilities and rights involved in participating in the various projects.
 
The CIOFF® Italy Section pursues the following general objectives:
  1. to contribute to the promotion and dissemination of a culture of peace and nonviolence, solidarity, friendship among peoples, and the protection of civil rights;
  2. to promote international understanding, the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and the preservation of the many treasures of “traditional and folk culture,” with special attention to younger generations and “ethnic and linguistic minorities.”
To achieve these objectives, the Association carries out the following activities in particular:
  1. the organization of cultural, artistic, and folkloric events of international significance;
  2. the coordination of folklore festivals organized by its members, through the creation of “circuits” and the preparation of an annual calendar of the Section’s festivals linked to the general calendar of CIOFF® Worldwide;
  3. the organization of exchanges between Italian and foreign folk groups;
  4. the conduct of research, studies, scientific conferences, exhibitions, and publications on “folk traditions,” and in particular on music, dance, costumes, and song;
  5. a collaboration with the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, with other National Sections affiliated with CIOFF®, and with various organizations and institutions that share the same objectives.
